ABOUT

Hello, I’m Suzanne.

suzi-013n

Health & Nutrition Coach. Yoga Instructor. Wellness Entrepreneur.

I specialise in working with women; whether running my weekend yoga retreats or in a private client or group setting on one of my health coaching programs.

My nutrition philosophy is to keep things SIMPLE, NUTRITIOUS and DELICIOUS. It stems from my desire to show people that you don’t have to compromise on taste to fall in love with food that loves you back.

My Story

I was brought up in a family where everything was made from scratch. From the homemade bread, to the jam on top, to the stuffing accompanying our traditional British Sunday lunch each weekend, my mum made it all. In fact my mum’s cooking got so popular that my parents set up a health food bakery called Speciality Foods. Bearing in mind that this was in the 80’s when the healthy food ‘trend’ had not even peeked its head above the ground, my parents really were trailblazers in health at that time.

So yes, my upbringing was totally infused with food – from heated debates around the dinner table about the best method to make chicken stock to brainstorming ideas for new healthy flapjack flavours for Speciality Foods – food has always been a passion.

However, even though all the food I ate was lovingly prepared and mostly natural, some of it was not sitting quite right with me and my body. From the initial signs such as asthma, eczema and frequent allergies, it culminated in me discovering in my 20’s that I had an 11 inch fibroid. For those of you not in the know (as I most definitely was NOT at the time) a fibroid is basically a benign tumour… taking up the inside of my womb – a pretty scary reality to be faced with having not had children (and not having them even close on the radar). It was a total wake up call to re-assess my fast paced lifestyle. I wanted to understand and heal the underlying cause of my issue – not just the symptom

Being a lawyer by profession (and a bit of a geek at heart) I ended up devouring every health book available and trying every superfood and promise-you-the-world diet out there… Some worked. Some didn’t. To cut a long story short – despite being told I would struggle to bear any children, I am now fibroid-free and I gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Olivia, in February 2016.
